Meals for Mandela Day

In celebration of Nelson Mandela’s birth, team City Property took the challenge to make a difference. In partnership with our friends from Rise Against Hunger, staff came together at 012central to meet the task head-on by packing a whopping 100 440 meals! This donation will reach the most vulnerable hungry children through the charity’s network.

“While we know there are much greater needs in our country, and this is but a drop in the ocean, we hope that the 100 000 meals our staff has donated and packed will make a meaningful difference in someone’s life,” said Heather Prinsloo, HR executive at City Property.

“Tata Madiba said that the ‘true character of a society is revealed in how it treats its children’ and as a future-looking property management agent, we recognise the change we want to see. This is the second year we are doing this, and already we’ve increased the number of meals from 72 000 to 100 000. We look forward to meeting this challenge again in the future.

In conjunction with Rise Against Hunger’s distribution part of our #67minutesForMandela included spending some time out in the Pretoria and Johannesburg CBDs making new friends, sharing the joy and handing out some of the meal packs to those in need.
