From vision to venue: 012central named finalist in the Tshwane Tourism Awards

Now, that journey has been recognised with a finalist nomination in the Conference and Events Venue category of the 2026 Tshwane Tourism Awards.

The nomination places 012central alongside some of Tshwane’s most recognised and established venues, making the achievement all the more meaningful. As one of the city’s newer event destinations, being recognised among industry leaders is a testament to the passion, creativity and dedication of the team behind the venue.

Developed by City Property as part of its ongoing commitment to revitalising Pretoria’s inner city, 012central was created as a place where creativity lives, entertainment thrives and communities come together. The precinct reflects City Property’s vision of creating vibrant urban spaces that support local businesses, celebrate culture and breathe new life into the city.

Winners will be announced at the Tshwane Tourism Awards gala evening on 22 August, and while we’ll have to wait a little longer to hear the final results, being named a finalist is already something worth celebrating.

More than an events venue

Located in the heart of Pretoria CBD, 012central has quickly established itself as one of the city’s most dynamic conference, events and entertainment venues. Its growing calendar of local, national and international events reflects the increasing confidence organisers have in the precinct and its ability to deliver memorable experiences across a wide range of event formats.

Offering a collection of versatile indoor and outdoor spaces, 012central can accommodate everything from intimate business meetings and conferences to product launches, exhibitions, fashion shows, festivals, live performances and film productions, with the capacity to host up to 1,200 guests.

A stage for unforgettable experiences

The calibre and diversity of events hosted at 012central over the past year demonstrate why the venue continues to attract some of South Africa’s leading brands, artists and event organisers.

One of the year’s highlights saw Suzuki South Africa choose 012central as the backdrop for its #JimnyCulture campaign featuring Pretoria-born artist Focalistic. Celebrating township culture, creativity and the spirit of “Pitori to the World”, the campaign showcased both the artist and Pretoria’s vibrant urban landscape, with 012central providing the perfect setting.

The precinct also welcomed STADIO Design School’s annual fashion show, transforming the venue into a striking runway for emerging design talent and celebrating the next generation of South African creatives.

Music and culture have found a natural home at 012central, with Spotify Wrapped celebrations bringing audiences together to celebrate the year’s biggest musical moments. Red Bull selected the venue for its acclaimed 64 Bars series, showcasing some of South Africa’s finest lyrical talent, while Red Bull Back2Beyond transformed the precinct into a multi-stage musical experience, taking audiences on a continuous journey through collaborative back-to-back DJ performances.

Another crowd favourite, Tshwanefontein, has become synonymous with celebrating local music, fashion and urban culture. After outgrowing the venue, organisers have chosen to return to 012central later this year—a powerful endorsement of the unique atmosphere and experience the precinct offers.

The wider 012central precinct, including Jardown, also recently hosted the exclusive adidas FocuForum 2000 launch, celebrating the return of one of adidas Originals’ iconic FocuForum sneakers. The event brought together sneaker enthusiasts, creators, influencers and media, further reinforcing the precinct’s growing reputation as a destination for leading fashion, lifestyle and brand experiences.

With even more on the calendar, including the internationally recognised ACCES 2025 conference hosted by the Music in Africa Foundation, the momentum continues to grow.
